CRWN: Promoting, Protecting and Upholding Children’s Rights
At CRWN, our mission is clear and unwavering: we exist to promote, protect and uphold the rights and welfare of every child, everywhere. We believe that children’s rights are not optional, secondary or negotiable — they are fundamental human rights that must be respected, protected and fulfilled in every context, from families and communities to national governments and global institutions.
Driving Systemic Change Through Advocacy and Policy
CRWN’s work goes beyond individual cases and isolated campaigns. We are dedicated to tackling the root causes of injustice by engaging in robust advocacy and policy work that creates meaningful, long-term change for children.
Through evidence-based research, strategic partnerships and bold campaigning, we push States, institutions and businesses to meet their obligations under international law — and to go further where children’s needs are still overlooked or neglected.
How We Make an Impact
1. Promoting Children’s Rights
We work to ensure that children’s rights are known, understood and championed — by policymakers, professionals,
communities and children themselves. We develop resources, run awareness campaigns, and support capacity-building
to help people hold duty-bearers accountable.
2. Protecting the Vulnerable
Where children face abuse, exploitation or neglect, we stand with them and for them — exposing violations, demanding
accountability and fighting for justice. We challenge harmful practices and work to strengthen safeguards so that all
children can grow up safe and free.
3. Upholding Rights Through Law and Policy
We advocate for stronger laws, policies and systems that recognise children as rights-holders, not passive recipients of charity or welfare. We work to embed children’s rights in national legislation, ensure compliance with international standards, and monitor governments’ progress.
4. Amplifying Children’s Voices
Children are experts in their own lives — yet their perspectives are too often ignored in the decisions that affect them. We actively work to make sure that children and young people are heard and meaningfully involved in shaping policies and systems that impact their present and future.
